Rules of the games, part 2
Activities and you...
Hey ,
Hope you’ve had a good week so far and have some riding planned in for this weekend. I’m back with Part two of the game rule, but if you missed last week’s post with Rules 1-3, check it out here. Let’s get right into it rules 4-6…
Rule 4
Activities must be completed using a bike
This may sound silly, but it’s worth calling out - no driving around in your car with Strava on and then uploading that as an activity! We only process activities that can be seen by “Everyone”, so the community can have their say if that KOM you got, in half the time it took Tadej Pogačar, was legit…
Rule 5
Activities must have their “Sport Type” labelled correctly
We want to be as inclusive and fair as possible, but acknowledge the varied opinions around eBikes and indoor riding. For us, it’s all movement and we appreciate some people are in a position where assistance is necessary or indoor is their only option. Therefore, the the following “Sport Types” are all eligible for earning points: Ride
, GravelRide
, MountainBikeRide
, VirtualRide
, EBikeRide
, EMountainBikeRide
, Handcycle
, but they have to be marked as such. No kayak
activities, please 🙏
Rule 6
You may only enter a game once, using a single Gradient Games account
Another rule to promote fairness. Players can only enter via a single account, connected to a single Strava profile. There will be opportunities to increase your points earning rate, using “power-ups” (more on these soon), but not by creating multiple profiles, connecting them to different Strava accounts and entering the game multiple times.
That’s it for the rules. I hope you’re getting out in the warmer weather and building up those game-legs. I am looking forward to sharing more about the testing, very soon - nearly there 🥵
